DJ Time is a live QrewTime product. This page is a working draft, not legal advice — have it reviewed by a qualified attorney, including for compliance with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), before relying on it for real customers.
1. What we collect today
Signing in is optional — DJ Time works fully without an account. If you do sign in (via the same shared QrewTime account system as Quiz Time, Karaoke Time and Bingo Time), we cloud-sync your hot cues, a compact BPM/key summary, and your MIDI controller mapping, so they follow you to another device. If you subscribe, your organisation's subscription and billing records are held by QrewTime — see QrewTime's full Privacy Policy for how that account-level data is handled. If you host or join an audience request room, we store the room code, your chosen DJ display name, and any song requests submitted to it. Otherwise, we collect no personal information beyond standard, aggregated web server logs.
2. Your local files
DJ Time's design is local-first: your music library stays on your own device. Audio and video files are never uploaded to us, by design — only the small pieces of metadata described above (never the files themselves) ever leave your device.
3. Online media search & connections
The YouTube, Spotify, and SoundCloud panels send your search text to those providers to return results — we don't log or store your search queries ourselves. If you connect a SoundCloud account, we store an encrypted access/refresh token so you don't have to reconnect every session; we never see your SoundCloud password, and you can disconnect at any time from the SoundCloud panel. The AI Studio and AI Set Assistant features send the text you enter (drop scripts, image prompts) or your analyzed track titles/BPM/key to ElevenLabs and OpenAI respectively, to generate audio, images, or set suggestions — those providers process that data under their own terms and privacy policies, not ours. No audio file content is ever sent to any of these providers.
4. Billing-related data
Payment processing (via Paystack) and subscription records are handled at the QrewTime account level, not by DJ Time directly — DJ Time never sees or stores your card details.
